Trifles Roundup
What we talked about in March of Season 10
“You know my method. It is founded upon the observation of trifles.”
— Sherlock Holmes, ‘The Boscombe Valley Mystery’
Longtime listeners of I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere are accustomed to the bimonthly interview format of the show, which has been called a cross between Fresh Air and Car Talk for Sherlock Holmes fans.
Fortunately, for those who don’t have the patience to wait around half a month for a new show or who prefer to dig into the minutiae of the Sherlock Holmes stories, there is an alternative: Trifles.
Each week, Scott Monty and Burt Wolder join forces to discuss some aspect in a single story or across stories that has grabbed their attention. It could be why Dr. Watson’s wife called him “James” in one story, what a gasogene and tantalus are, what a hansom cab is, or an investigation of the mysterious Victorian affliction brain fever.
There are monthly series on things like sports and games, award-winning Sherlockian scholarship, and animals, among others. And broad topics like travel, crime, women, and many more. You can check out the Collections as well as Browse topics.
We hope you’ll have a chance to explore the entire back catalogue, which is now approaching 500 episodes.
